Meet Sheila - Life Enthusiast
Sheila is one of many of our interesting and fun guests. This outgoing woman with an infectious laugh and positive outlook is a role model for being an independent traveling woman.
Sheila’s a married mother of 14 year-old twins and works for the public schools. She’s also a bike/trike enthusiast who has put over 38,000 miles on her 09 CanAm Spyder RS and self-designed trailer. She attends 3-5 events a year (including the Trike Rally here in Deadwood) and travels light.
Sheila sleeps in a Kamp-Kot and has a “hidey hole” tent that can be used for multiple purposes. She manages to pack everything she needs in her easily recognized Betty Boop trailer.
Sheila’s husband works for a major national trucking company. On this trip, Sheila noticed that many of the semis honked and waved as she passed. She later found out that her husband posted her picture with her trike on the company’s website and asked his colleagues to watch out for her!
While camped with us, Sheila was able to enjoy our showerhouses, cafe’ and quiet setting. She spent time reading under the shade tree, and she especially enjoyed catching and eating her 13 1/2 inch rainbow trout!
Sheila cannot advocate enough for women to take time for themselves to refresh, and also to learn to do things independently. Her advice to others is to Travel Simply and Live Your Dream. Happy Trails Sheila!
